My Music Workshop was founded in 2009 by husband and wife Elias and Lianna Berlinger. They’re both teachers who grew up in musical families. Now they share music with their two kids and with kids everywhere.

Nearly 90% of parents believe that learning music is important to their child’s development. But, only 16% of U.S. children between 4-12 take music lessons. We’re here to change that.

Our Story
Bringing Music into Children’s Lives
Wow, time flies! It was nearly 20 years ago when Lianna and I realized that we were both inspired by sharing the gift of music with kids. We lit up when a child got excited by their musical success. We also shared the entrepreneurial spirit and worked hard in the early years to create and launch a great music program for kids.
Our journey began in San Diego, CA, where we developed a unique music program that kids would love. We launched it as both an in-school and after-school program. Our hard work paid off and we grew to serve thousands of students across Southern California.
In 2020, in-person teaching came to an abrupt halt due to the global pandemic. But, we knew it was crucial for kids to continue their musical education, especially while they were stuck at home. So, we built the new My Music Workshop online program, and people really loved it. We were so grateful, but the best part was that kids were still getting the gift of music in their lives.
As it turned out, we could be super creative with our online lessons! We designed lessons that were fun and engaging. Families gave us amazing feedback and kept asking for more. We never stopped creating and building new music lessons for kids.
We also knew that kids could interact with music in new ways using an online platform. We envisioned a music program with lessons, rewards, avatars, games, quizzes, and a virtual music store where they would get excited to learn about instruments! So, in 2023, we kept moving forward and started developing the new My Music Workshop.
This is the program that we know kids deserve. A truly engaging and interactive musical experience that makes learning music a joy!
As we were building this new program, our kids Jay and Lyra asked to use it every day! They love it. And we hope that your kids do too!
