  How Lessons Work

Getting Started

You can start with any instrument or topic (and you don’t need an instrument to get going).

Lesson flows are sequential - so be sure to begin with your topic’s first video. We recommend playing for about 15 minutes a day, three times per week.

Practice, Jam, Play

Move forward when you feel comfortable with the current lesson (or when you can play with the Jam Along).

You can maximize lessons by printing the practice journals and worksheets and downloading the MP3s for each “Jam Along.”

Good Habits

Tip #01: If your child doesn’t have an instrument, or if they are young, try Pre-Planned lessons.

Pro Tip #02: Maximize instrument learning by visiting our subject-based lessons. These "lands" help students understand the ideas that live at the heart of music.
